I teach Kundalini Yoga and meditation techniques from a trauma-informed perspective.
My classes usually include:
  • prompts for centering and grounding (eyes open or closed)
  • tuning-in with Adi Manta (Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo)
  • brief on-boarding on intentions set for practice
  • opportunity for input and feedback from students
  • warms-ups (including many modification)
  • breath practices (especially those that active parasympathetic nervous system- the bodies healing mode) 
  • Kundalini yoga set and meditations  (including many modification)
  • Deep relaxation accompanied by a calming, live native American Flute concert
  • Tune out and close of practice

In this class, I hope to help students integrate their experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty of the future. We are presently adapting to an ever-changing understanding of the world around us. In my current experience, yoga is even more vital for grounding amongst the chaos and centering within my own being as connection can be scare and overriding messages can be unsettling.

In light of the severity and scope of the pandemic, one might sense quite noticeable changes in their yoga practice and in life at large. Some might be difficult to discern and even more so to express with words. Tolerances for noise, for music mood/genre, for physical activity, and for extended meditative focus can all change drastically due to stress or prolonged anxiety/ trauma. Even one’s willingness to close their eyes and just breathe consciously can shift quite dramatically.

I aim to aide students in integrating the messages the body and mind offer in response to the new stresses in our modern lives. We will achieve this by] fostering the internal awareness that the practice of mindfulness, yoga, and meditation bring to the table. Practices will center around impactful breath techniques, yoga sets that target the stress response and regenerative systems in the body, and curated meditations for healing and integration.

In this virtual yoga for beginner and intermediate students, practices will center specifically around yoga sets, breath techniques, and meditations (with a special focus on those with mantras) that hone awareness. One might argue that all yoga and any mindfulness technique could do this, but there are many Kundalini yoga kriyas and meditations that lend special magnificence when we focus upon their facet. I aim to broaden my own and every students' scope without from within through these revolutionary practices.

​90 minute Individualized guided yoga/mindfulness session. Note: New clients will have a short consult prior to their initial session.

Sessions usually include guided techniques for centering, tuning into our inner wisdom/guidance, warm-ups tailored to your most current needs, breath exercises to manage symptoms of anxiety or stress, and then Kundalini yoga sets and meditations that will provide opportunities for you to develop insight and awareness. All session also conclude with an intimate Native American flute concert as a feature of final relaxation to help the body integrate, the mind rest, and the spirit soar.
